Why do I have to buy Office 365 if I just want Yammer?
Yammer is part of the Office 365 family, similar to other standalone services like SharePoint and Exchange. Signing up for Yammer Enterprise automatically generates an Office 365 account for you to manage your billing, licenses, Office 365-account settings, and Yammer activation.
Is there a free trial to test the upgraded Yammer Enterprise network features?
Yes, you can get a free trial of Yammer Enterprise by signing up for an Office 365 E3 trial. You will have the opportunity to activate a Yammer Enterprise network. At the end of the trial, you can either purchase Yammer Enterprise to keep your activated network, or let the trial expire – this will automatically downgrade your network to Yammer Basic.
To preserve the activated Yammer Enterprise network post-trial, you must upgrade from your trial account, either by purchasing an Office 365 E3 plan to keep all of the Office 365 trial features including Yammer Enterprise, or by purchasing Yammer Enterprise as a standalone product.
How do I buy Yammer Enterprise?
The above plans can be purchased directly through Office 365. Yammer can also be purchased with a Volume Licensing Enterprise Agreement or through a Microsoft Sales Partner. Work with a partner for more information on the purchasing options for larger organizations.
How can I get support?
Office 365 admins can submit Service Request tickets via their Office 365 Admin Portal, and all Yammer Admins can access the support knowledge base.
I already have Office 365, how do I upgrade our Yammer Basic network to Enterprise?
If you have a Yammer-entitled Office 365 plan, you can activate your Yammer Enterprise network through the Office 365 Admin Portal. Read more about activating your network.
Can I upgrade part of my user base to Enterprise?
It is not possible to set Basic or Enterprise access at the user level. Yammer Enterprise licenses are automatically assigned to all Office365 users in your account, and Enterprise features are rolled out to the entire network.
What is the difference between Yammer Enterprise (paid subscription) and Yammer Basic (free)?
Yammer Enterprise networks include admin tools like user management, the ability to authorize and manage apps for your network and access to customer success tools and the Microsoft Help Desk support. Compare detailed features here.
How do I renew my Yammer subscription?
If you purchased Yammer directly through the Office 365 portal, renewal notices are sent to the admin on the account to renew online. If you purchased through Volume Licensing, visit the current customer information resource center.
How do I adjust the number of users on my network?
You can add seats within the Office 365 portal and use your credit card , purchase order with a partner or Enterprise Agreements. Note that you are required to purchase enough licenses to cover your Yammer Enterprise users, and can add additional licenses to your account via the Licensing page on your Office 365 Admin Center.
Does setting up external networks require us to purchase seats for network members outside our domain?
No. External network users are not counted as part of your Yammer Enterprise licensing obligation.
