With over 500,000 apps to choose from, finding the cream of the crop is no easy task. Fortunately, Apple did the work for us – App Store Rewind 2011 revisits the best apps of the year and picks the top 5 for each of the 21 highly contested categories, including sports, travel, finance, entertainment, and more.  Getting a nod from Apple is quite the honor, which is why we’re thrilled they featured us in their list of top five business apps of the year.

Along with Apple, many key customers are also recognizing value in our mobile apps. Lawrence DeVoe, SVP and Chief Technology Catalyst at Initiative Media says, “Initiative executives love Yammer’s iPad app. Executives are on the road over half the time, so having a tool that lets us keep a pulse on what’s happening on the ground floor of the business is huge.“

All this positive feedback has encouraged our mobile vision for the upcoming year.  In 2012 we’ll deliver mobile and tablet apps that are even stronger pillars of Yammer, not just extensions of our website. Remote users will be able to engage with coworkers like never before – sharing messages, photos, videos, and documents instantly.

If you don’t have an iPhone or iPad, you can still experience Yammer mobile apps on your Android phone or tablet, BlackBerry, or Windows Phone. We appreciate all the support from Apple and our customers, and look forward to exceeding mobile app expectations next year!

You should be able to access it by going to iTunes Store>App Store and then clicking into the App Store 2011 Rewind image from the scrolling carousel at the top of the page. From here, you can scroll down to see the top five winners in the business category.
