Leading the Mobile Collaboration Movement with New Apps
If you’re like us, you probably can’t live without your smartphone. We all depend on our mobile devices to help us manage our personal affairs and a growing number of us are now relying on them for day-to-day business. In fact, one in five people in the information workforce conduct business on the go, according to a Forrester Research Report (by Ted Schadler) “The Internet Crushes the Work/Life Boundary.”
At Yammer, we make mobile collaboration with your colleagues a top priority and were even recognized by Forrester Research Inc. as a leader in the space. We are proud to have been named a leader in their August 2011 report “Forrester Wave™: Mobile Collaboration, Q3 2011“.
We appreciate this honor and are excited to keep the momentum going with today’s release of our upgraded iPhone, iPad, and BlackBerry applications. The upgrades deliver enhanced experiences optimized for each device.
Major updates for the iPhone and iPad include:
- Notifications – Keep track of new messages, @mentions, replies, likes, invites, and new followers in a separate Notifications tab.
- New Feed View (iPhone only) – Easily follow multiple conversations in a feed with the two most recent replies displayed directly underneath the original message.
- Updated Main Tabs – Intuitively navigate to different pages from updated main tabs for Groups, Members, and Private Messages.
For the BlackBerry application, you can expect to see improved BES support as well as new Unread Message Counts, which track unread messages from the Yammer icon on your home screen when the application is out of view.
